Good news for those of you Permnanent Residents (PR) card holders, Starting October 8, 2024 For Singapore Permanent Residents holders, the Riau Islands areas that can be visited include Batam, Bintan, and Karimun with a maximum visa-free stay of four days from arrival and cannot be extended. This has been regulated in the Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number M.HH-1.GR.01.07 concerning List of Specific Immigration Checkpoints for Entry into Indonesian Territory for Visa-Free Visit Subjects.

The granting of Visa-Free Visits for Singapore PR to visit Batam, Bintan and Karimun will make it easier for those [Singapore PR holders] who want to spend the weekend or just a short escape, such as enjoying nature, culinary tours or shopping. The Visa-Free Visit users can enter through crossings on Batam Island, Bintan Island and Karimun Regency area.
This policy only applies in the Riau Islands region, so tourists who want to travel domestically must first return to Singapore. After that, make a visit visa according to their national passport.
