The best time to start snorkeling is in the morning after you have breakfast at the hotel. 9 or 10 a.m. is the perfect time when the sea water is at its highest tide. The trip from your hotel, especially hotels in the Bintan Resort area, takes 1 hour by car. If you want to buy snacks and drinks at a minimarket before heading there, ask the driver to stop briefly at a minimarket. Along the way, you will be treated to views of lush, unspoiled forests, villages, and palm oil plantations. You will pass Trikora Beach, which has a long coastline and clear blue water. It is truly a sight to behold. Not far from there, you will arrive at Dolphin Beach, which is the pick-up point from the beach to Kelong Bintan Nemo.

Entering Dolphin Beach, the road is sandy. There is a parking area, huts, and simple food stalls on the beach with a stage-like structure.
Near the stalls, there are one or two speedboats that transport passengers to the middle of the sea. There are also speedboats that drop passengers off from the middle of the sea to the shore. You will board a speedboat to reach the snorkeling spot, which takes about 10-15 minutes by motorboat.

There is no time limit for this activity; they are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This means you can snorkel and stay at Kelong Nemo until the afternoon. You can relax, unwind, and take photos with the beautiful ocean scenery in the background.

Yes, snorkeling is safe for those who cannot swim as long as it is done with the proper safety equipment (life jacket/snorkel vest), accompanied by a professional guide, and in a calm location, because the point is to float on the surface of the water with breathing apparatus, not to swim. The key is to stay calm and always use a life jacket, as you can float comfortably and see the beauty of the underwater world without having to be a strong swimmer.

Yes, this facility is usually a standard service provided by tour operators. Tour operators provide action cameras such as GoPro (Hero 7 to 10 series). The snorkeling guide will accompany you in the water and take photos and videos while you swim with fish or near coral reefs. You don’t need to bother holding the camera yourself. Local guides in Bintan are usually trained to take good underwater photos, including luring fish to gather around you for photos.
This documentation is usually free (included in the package price). After the activity is complete, the photo and video files will be transferred to your phone.
Tips: Make sure you have enough memory on your phone, or if you are an iPhone user, you can use AirDrop. Some operators may send files via Google Drive or WhatsApp at night if the files are too large.
