Of course you can. Many Malaysian tourists do this. Visit and spend the night in Batam first and then the next day continue their trip to Bintan Island. You can stay overnight in Bintan or take a 1-day trip and return to Batam Island. There are 2 Ferry Terminal port options to get to Bintan Island from Batam. That is through Tanjung Uban Ferry Port or through Tanjung Pinang Ferry Port. Start your journey to Telaga Punggur Port Batam. This is the port in Batam to get to Bintan Island. The option from Telaga Punggur Port Batam to Tanjung Uban Port Bulang Linggi is in our opinion the right option as it only takes 20 minutes to get to Bintan Island by speedboat. If you choose to go to Tanjung Pinang Ferry Terminal, it takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. This trip can be your choice if you decide to stay at a hotel in the Tanjung Pinang City area.
